Can palm leaf products have a uniform color?
No, palm leaf products typically do not have a single, uniform color. Their natural appearance is shaped by the inherent pigments, tannins, and oxidation of the palm leaves. These organic elements create unique patterns, streaks, and color variations on each plate, giving them a distinctive, rustic charm. This natural variability is part of what makes palm leaf tableware so appealing and eco-authentic.
What are Forever Chemicals?
Forever Chemicals is a nickname for a group of synthetic chemicals called Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). They’re known for their extreme persistence in the human body and the environment because they don’t break down easily.
What are per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)?
PFAS are man-made chemicals made up of carbon-fluorine bonds, which are among the strongest in chemistry. The strong bonds makes PFAS resistant to degradation, leading to their accumulation over time. There are over 12,000 types of PFAS, including: Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) & Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA).
Why are PFAS used in traditional single- use Styrofoam and paper products?
PFAS are added to single-use items to make them resistant to oil, grease, water, other liquids and stains. Additionally, they make the products non-stick and durable.
What is Bisphenol-A (BPA)?
BPA is an industrial chemical used in manufacturing strong and durable plastics.
Why are BPAS used in traditional single- use plastic products?
It helps harden and strengthen items like disposable cups, plates, and cutlery.
